Disaster Preparedness for Frenchies

We attended a pet Expo in the park today. And we were very glad we went. The Red Cross was in attendance and they suggested that we be prepared for our pets in case of a disaster. First and formost the easiest thing to start with, but probably one of the most important is to write a info sheet on your dog. If you have more than one dog or pet, write a description of your pet, and health or medical concerns and needs, your vet’s info, and who to contact in casr of an emergency. They suggested putting tjis list where it can be found in your home, and also in your car in case of an accident. Sometimes people get in car accidents while their pets are in the car. If you get taken to the hospital they need to know who to contact to pick up your pet. This really makes sense.  And just as we would have snacks and drinks on a trip in case we break down or get lost, we should also have food and water for our pets. It only takes a couple minutes to do these things and yet it provides for the safety and well being of our beloved pets.
