The Puppy Pen Experience

You never know what you mignt what might happen when you are a dog breeder. Even though we have been doing this for over twenty years, we still have our first time experiences. Today we gathered up our old faithful puppy playpen. It has seen many a bulldog puppies in it’s day. One of our friends told us that she takes her horse trailer to the truck stop, where they have a large bay for the trucks to pull in and get cleaned. Here they use a wand that sprays a special cleaner, followed by a power wash sprayer to take off some of the rust and oxidation. So we loaded up the pen and off we went…..
When we arrived at the truck stop we had no idea where the truck wash was located. As we drove around and around the lot, obvious that we were either lost or confused, among all the large trucks we seemed very small. Finally, my husband agreed that we should ask one of the truckers where we should go, (no easy feat to get a man to ask for directions!) Down the drive between rows and rows of trucks we went. Finally far in the back behind all the sleeping trucks we finally found the building. A very nice young man opened the doors for us to drive into the building. he had us unload the crates and he proceeded to clean them. It only took a total of 20 minutes start to finish. For the most part it really does remove the oxidation, not all of the rust, but we were very pleased with the outcome. I would recommend that you try this if you have old crates that are still in good condition. The fee was very minimal. So we reloaded our crates, and drove back out among the trucks and headed home to await another day in the pregnancy of our French Bulldog.
